2023 Theodore Hanekamp Scholarship Recipient
Julia Kollitz is a 4+1 student in the UK College of Public Health. Julia plans to pursue a community focused career in infectious disease and/or global health. She has been active in a myriad of public health-oriented volunteer activities. She will begin her full-time graduate studies in Fall 2023.
2023 Ellen M. Buchart Scholarship Recipient
Ms. Alexis Kelly is a rising senior studying Public Health and statistics at Eastern Kentucky University. In the future, Alexis would like to attend graduate school for biostatistics or epidemiology. She desires to focus on assessment of health disparities to help create better programs and policies to improve the health of others. She is particularly interested in grief and addiction research and aims to help others who have been impacted by both.
2023 Public Health Workforce Development Scholarship Recipient
Hanan Yusuf is a graduate student at the University of Kentucky pursuing a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. In addition to graduate studies, Hanan is a student intern with the Kentucky Department of Public Health and a part-time employee with the Disability Resource Center at UK. Hanan desires to alleviate health disparities in underserved and rural communities.

2022 Theodore Hanekamp Scholarship and Public Health Workforce Development Scholarship Recipient
Kelsey Gatton is a 1st year Masters Student pursuing a degree in Health Systems and Policy Analytics through the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. She currently works full-time the College of Public Health at UK as a Research Assistant and Administrative Support Associate. She desires to find ways to bridge the gap between clinical care and community organizations to improve public health.
2022 Ellen M. Buchart Scholarship Recipient
Alyssa Hargis is a Junior at the University of Kentucky studying Public Health and Environmental and Sustainability. She is actively involved in many service activities that benefit the health of the campus and greater community. Her goal is to become a health department leader that continues to advance meaningful research and transformative health programs.

Tiff Haub is pursuing her Masters of Science in Healthcare Administration at the University of Louisville with the goal of becoming a director of sports medicine. She is employed by Norton health care as the sports medicine coordinator.
2021 Public Health Workforce Scholarship Recipient
Grace Donaldson is from the Pennyrile District Health Department. Grace is employed in Health Education and Community Outreach at the health department. She is pursuing her Masters in Public Administration with a focus in community and public health at Murray State University.
