The Kentucky Department for Public Health (KDPH) established the Center for Foundational Health (C4FH) to develop processes, programs and professional development opportunities to recruit, train and retain a competent and diverse response-ready public health workforce. To accomplish these goals, the C4FH team has developed a pipeline of programs that begin with engaging high school students in public health careers, providing internship and experiential learning opportunities for post-secondary education students and extending professional development and continuing education for the KDPH’s public health workforce.
